To export pngs/jpegs from InDesign with custom file names first name all each page with the correct name/number you want to use.
- Under the Layout menu in InDesign select Table of Contents... include Paragraph Style and be sure the Create PDF Bookmarks checkbox is checked.
- Place the resulting TOC onto the pasteboard. Take a look at the Bookmarks panel (View - Show/Hide -Navigation Panes - Bookmarks) to see what bookmarks have been made.
- Export the PDF making sure Bookmarks is turned on. (General Panel... Scroll down to Include and check the Bookmarks checkbox
- Open the PDF in Adobe Acrobat. Go to the Bookmarks panel and make sure that the bookmarks have been created. If so, go to the Pages tools and select Split Document. In the new dialog box, check the radio button Top-level bookmarks and click the Output Options button. In this dialog box, choose a new folder to save the resulting PDFs (if necessary) and in the File Labeling portion of the dialog box, check the Use Bookmark Names for File Names radio button.Your PDF file should be split into its appropriately named PDFs.
- Open each PDF in Adobe Acrobat. Under the File menu go to Export To... select Image then choose either Jpeg or PNG.
