For you ordered pairs: (1,7) (2,8) (3,-2) (4,4)
The domain (input) is the first number in each pair, thus D={1, 2, 3, 4}
The range (output) is the second number in each pair, thus R ={-2, 4, 7, 8}
NOTE: Domain and Range are listed in order from least to greatest and without duplication. If we added another ordered pair (1,8) our list of Domain and Range would not change as 1 is already listed in the Domain, and 8 is already listed in the Range
EXPLANATION:
The domain are all the values which can be input into a function. Example y = 2x. To find y, you input some value of x.
Therefore the domain is your input value and in this case your x value.
The range is all values that the function will output given the domain. Example y = 2x. If x = 2, then y = 4.
Therefore the range are all of your output values and in this case your y values.
Ordered pairs whether (x,y) (c,d) (x, f(x)) are ordered (input, output) or (domain, range). Note that these are both alphabetical.
