Thank you for posting. I realize Calculus is hard enough without needing to learn computer math symbols.
However, your question is not clear. It appears to be missing some exponents. The window I'm typing in and hopefully the window for student questions enables x2 which would help tremendously to understand what you are asking. Also, the caret symbol, '^', typed with "shift 6", means exponentiation.
x^(7-5) = x^2 = x2
When using the caret symbol with exponents of more than one letter be sure to put the exponent in parentheses.
x^7 -5 is not the same because it means x7 -5, This does the power first and afterwards does the subtraction.
Perhaps your original question needs a division symbol?
y / 10 means y divided by 10 or y over 10.
Likewise, to be safe you can put the entire numerator in parentheses, " ( .... ) " and the entire denominator in parentheses, " ( .... ) ". As in calculators, (20-14) / (7-3) = 6/ 4 = 3/2
But leaving them out, 20 - 14 / 7 - 3 becomes 20 - 2 - 3 = 15.
Finally, sometimes especially when the characters may not translate correctly from one web browser to the next, or MacOS to Windows to Android, we simply type out the words.
For example, Infinite series questions are common enough, many tutors would assume you mean
sum of f(n) from n = 0 to n = infinity = e(e-1)2
I use spacing also to help clarify the meaning.
Please revise or ask another question correcting both the inside of the sum and the right hand side of your equation.
