The cool thing about exponents is there's no such thing as a negative exponent. When you see a negative exponent, it just means that it needs to swap its place in the numerator or denominator. So your problem

1/(2h^{-2}j^{-4}k^{-2})^{ }is the exact same thing as saying (h^{2}j^{4}k^{2}) / 2
