513 MCAT, but weird score distribution, should I retake?
Hiii everyone, just got my score back and i got 128/127/132/126. I'm happy about my score since it reflects my practice scores, but my psych/soc score was a dramatic drop and I'm annoyed about it since I was averaging 130-131 on my last 5 practice tests. I'm wondering how significant of a difference it is and if it's worth retaking (sigh, i really don't want to cause I'd rather just enjoy the last few months of my senior year and not be studying for this f\*cking exam... so If I retake it wouldn't be until June/July and I think that would push me back another application cycle -- leading to a total of 2 gap years).
My GPA is 3.57, been doing research for 2 years, and have a co-authored publication, as well as 1 presentation. \~100 clinical hours.
What do ya'll think? It feels like a toss up to me.
I understand the disappointment of not performing as well on a section as you were on practice exams. However, you should be thrilled with a 513 - that is a great score! I don't think that retaking the exam is necessary for you - your entire application is quite strong. Focus on your GPA and enjoying the rest of your senior year. Best of luck!
