Do I really have to know experimental design for the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior Section?

Yes, absolutely. The MCAT uses this section to test your reasoning about experimental design. It can show up in the other sections but you're guaranteed to see a significant amount of it in the psychology/sociology section. The good news, though, is that this isn't stuff you need to learn for the sake of taking a test. As a physician it will be extremely important for you to be able to read research articles, analyze them critically, and apply them to your practice.
