Yes, absolutely. The MCAT uses this section to test your reasoning about experimental design. It can show up in the other sections but you're guaranteed to see a significant amount of it in the psychology/sociology section. The good news, though, is that this isn't stuff you need to learn for the sake of taking a test. As a physician it will be extremely important for you to be able to read research articles, analyze them critically, and apply them to your practice.
