There are two main types of questions that are seen on the MCAT: discrete and passage questions. Discrete questions will usually require you to remember a specific piece of information to answer the question. Passage questions will often draw questions from the linked passage and will need you to extrapolate or elaborate based upon your studied knowledge. The CARS sections, however, is only filled with passage sections but it only requires you draw from the passage to answer those questions in a much different style to the rest of the test.
Khan Academy (https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/mcat/) and many other MCAT prep sites can provide specific examples of questions for you to see and practice with.
