I can't speak to technologies other than spring/hibernate as I am not familiar with them. Spring/Hibernate will get the backend job done. It makes sense to use whichever technology you're most comfortable with, if you're going to be doing the work. At the end of the day, a lot of programming languages can do the same thing, but it takes time to learn them all.
