Do I have enough time to take the MCAT and apply to med school?

Long story short, I was given terrible guidance by my school. Never knew you had to apply the year prior (sept. 2018) to expected admission (fall 2019). I have all my prerequisites (currently taking my last one... biochem), a 3.9 GPA and currently in cancer research (goal is to be an oncologist). I have little shadowing hours (~20), no volunteering and have had a job since 11th grade (come from straight poverty). I would have to start studying for MCAT NOW.... do I have a good shot? I can handle high stress/workloads. I live in FL. I really do not prefer to take a gap year.

Unfortunately, it is too late to apply for fall 2019 admissions at most (if not all) universities. Many schools have stopped interviewing and the latest MCAT that they would have accepted is usually the September 2018 exam.

But! It sounds like you can study hard for fall 2020 admissions and work on improving your shadowing and volunteer hours.
