Sherry, do you mean f(g(x))?
If we had f(5), then we'd plug in 5 for x and have -6(5) - 1 = -31
Instead, we plug in g(x) for x. -6(4x2) - 1 = -24x2 - 1
Is that what you were looking for?
If you typed it correctly, then we are multiplying the two equations. 4x2(-6x - 1) = -24x3 - 4x2

Then, we know that fg is short for f x g, so do the second part of what I said. (f-g)(x) would be subtracting. Hope I am making sense.
