If your question is in regards to factoring this equation, I think the -13 should be +13. Are you sure this is not a typo? For +13, here is the process:
1. (p- )(p- ) Ask yourself, using the numbers 13 and 1, since only these two multiplied together make up 13 (because it is a prime number), how can I make these add up to -14?
2. (p-13)(p-1) This is our only option, and it factors out to p2-14p+13. If there is a solution to the -13 as you describe above, then I am not aware of it.
