Probability equals the number of events that satisfy your criteria divided by the total number of events
So for a) A, 2 or 3 - there are 4 aces, 4 twos and4 threes
therefore we have 12 events that satisfy your criteria and the total number of possible events is 52
so the probability for a) is 12/52 or about 23%
b) 26 black cards and 4 twos but 2 of the twos are already counted in the black cards
so 28/52
