Figure out how many ways you can get the number nine and then how many total possibilities there are

 

How many ways can you get 9

 

Dice 1  Dice 2

   3         6

   4         5

   5         4

   6         3

 

 

So there are a total of 4 ways you can get 9

 

and since there are six numbers on each dice the total possibilities is 6 * 6 or 36

 

Prob(9)  = 4/36   = 1/9  or about 11.1%
