Sports Authority was offering 45% off 2 pairs of Nike Free Run shoes and Academy was offering buy one get one half off. The Nike free runs are priced at $90. Which store had the best Monetary Incentive? I don't understand how to solve this...

First, figure out how much the shoes would cost at each store:

Original price $90 + $90 = $180

Sports Authority:

Discount $180 x 0.45 = $81

Sales Price $180 - $81 = $99

Academy

Discount $90 x 0.5 = $45

Sales Price $180 - $45 = $135

Sports Authority had the better deal at $99.
