Adam, I assume you are using a calculator. Remember that taking the square root of a number is the same as raising the number to the power of 1/2.
In your calculator, put in 528^(1/4) + 942^(1/2) - 284^(1/3)
Be sure to use the parenthesis, because 528^(1/4) is not the same as 528^1/4.

Adam, I got exactly what you meant. If you take the square root of a number, say 5, it's the same thing as 51/2. The fifth root of 5 would be 51/5. You have the fourth root of 528, meaning that something times itself four times equals 528. Another way to write it is 5281/4.
