Slope-intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. Since we are given the slope, we only have to determine the y-intercept. Slope is determined by, for any 2 points on the line, (change in y)/(change in x). In this case, our 2 points are (0,y) and (5,0). Therefore
(y-0)/(0-5) = 1 = y/-5 so the y-intercept is -5 and the slope intercept form is y = x-5
