HELP NEEDED URGENTLY!!

The length of a rectangle is 6 units more than its width. If the area of the Square is 216 units, find the dimensions of the rectangle. Answer with the equation you used, followed by the answer and how you got the answer.

Let w= width , then length is w+6

Area is length x width so 216= x(x+6)

216=w^2 +6w

w^+6w -216=0

(w+18)(w-12)=0 w= -18 or 12. You can discard -18 since you cannot have a negative width

So width=12 and length is w+6=18
