1) just take the square root of 4,840, which is 69.57 if you round to the hundredths place value. This number is between 69 and 70.
2) Take the cube root of 1,728. This number is 12. Since 12^3= 1,728.
a) the edge is 12 inches
b) a= x^2= 12*12= 144 sq. in. This is the area of a face of the cube.
c) the surface area is (6)(144)= 864 sq. in. Since there are six faces, you multiply by 6.
d) 1 sq. ft. = 144 sq. in., so divide 864 by 144, which is 6
3) The sq. rt. of 21 is 4.58 and (3pi/2)= (3.14* 3)/2= 9.42/2= 4.71.
Add 4.58+ 4.71= 9.29. Then divide by 2. That equals 4.645.
