Question

Ian and Joe took their younger sister Michelle to pick strawberries.  Ian picked 5 times as many as Michelle.  Joe picked 7 times as many strawberries as Michelle.  Ian and Joe picked a total of 192 strawberries.  How many strawberries did Joe pick?

Total joe and ian picked =192

5x+7x=192

solve for x=16

Since joe is 7x...16*7=112

so, joe picked 112
