It is a quadratic function, not to be confused with the quadratic formula
qualities of a quadratic function:
it's in the form ax2 + bx + c where a is not equal to zero
it's graph is a parabola that opens upward or downward
the domain is all real numbers
if the parabola opens upward, it's vertex is a miniumum. If it opens downward, it's vertex is a maxiumum
If there is a minimum, the range is all real numbers greater than or equal to the y-value of the vertex
If there is a maximum, the range is all real numbers less than or equal to the y-value of the vertex
the axis of symmetry will divide it into two mirror images
It will have two, one or zero x-intercepts where it intersects the x-axis. These points are also called roots, zeroes, solutions.
