a.)Explain why customers might consider the promotion unfair. How could the promotion have been modified to avoid these complaints?
b.)The bank will have the same promotion next year; however, it will have customers spin a spinner instead of drawing tickets. The spinner will have 80 equal sections. The probability of each outcome (free pen sets, $10 bonus, $50 bonus, and better luck next time) will be the same as it was at the start of the ticket promotion. How many sections on the spinner will have each label? Explain how you know.
c.)Explain why the spinner promotion is less likely to draw as much criticism as the ticket promotion.

a) the tickets could have been put back after being drawn to keep the odds consistent

b) p(pen set) = 100/200= 1/2

 

1/2 of the sections should be for pen sets  

 

40 sections for pens

 

p($10 ticket) = 20/200 = 1/10

 

1/10 of the sections should be for $10

 

8 sections for $10

 

p($50) = 5/200 = 1/40

 

1/40 of the sections should be for $50

 

2 sections for $50

 

p(no prize) = 75/200 = 3/8

 

3/8 of the sections should be for no prize

 

30 sections for no prize

c)the odds remain the same for everyone no what has been won to date
