If the two spinners below are spun, the probability that the numbers will add to less than six?

Second spinner had 4 sections 

The answers are in fractions but I don't undersand why 

Help! I am so confused with this question

All probabilities are number between 0 and 1 and thus would be fractions in this case, namely the ratio of area that is considered success, to entire area.  These probabilities cannot be computed without complete and accurate descriptions of the spinners, which are lacking.  Suggestion: re-read your textbook, including examples.
