Bob is going to tak out two random sweets

what is the probability the two sweets will not be the same type of sweet

Find the probability of each of these;

P(2 aniseed)   P(2 mint)   P(2 fruit) 

 

Form the sum of those probabilities; this is P(two of the same).

Subtract the above from 1; that's P(NOT SAME).

 

Hint: P(2 aniseed) = (7/30)(6/29)  [w/o replacement]
