Derive f(x) = 5+ (4/x) +(3/x^2)

I think you meant to say DIFFERENTIATE this function.  Just apply the power rule term by term.

 

f'(x) = 0 + 4(-1)x^-1-1 + 3(-2)x^-2-1 = -4/x² - 6/x³

Do you mean take the derivative of f(x) wrt x?  If so, use the power rule:

 

f(x) = 5 + 4x^-1 + 3x^-2

 

df(x)/dx = d5/dx + 4dx^-1/dx + 3dx^-2/dx

df(x)/dx = 0 - 4x^-2 - 6x^-3

df(x)/dx = -4/x² - 6/x³
