My parabola is Y=-(x-2)^2+4

y = -(x-2)^2 + 4  <---- this is vertex form; the vertex is (2,4); A=-1; 

 

     - (x^2 - 4x + 4)+4 <--- FOIL

 

   = -x^2 + 4x - 4 + 4   <---- changes the signs

 

   = -x^2 + 4x

 

  = -x(x-4)  <--- factored form

 

the zeros are x=0 and x=4
