MRI scans are used to see the inside of the body especially in the chest, pelvic, and abdomen areas. One difference to this and CT is that MRIs don't have a radiation concern. MRIs are also good at looking at soft tissues and the nervous system. The purpose of the MRI would be to find any problems, to check the health of an organ, and to even routinely check a condition.
What the MRI can find:
stroke
blood vessel damage
cancer
spinal cord injuries
infections in the bones
