thanks for your post. You are asked to find the excluded values. To do so, before simplifying the expression you must factor the denominator and then set each factor equal to zero. Then those values are the ones that should be excluded.

= 27p/[18p(p-2)]

 

Since denominator cannot be zero the excluded values are

p=0, 2

 

 factor 9p out of numerator and denominator

 

= [9p(3)]/[(9p)(2)(p-2)]

 

= 3/2(p-2) or 3/(2p-4), p≠0,2
