The length of a rectangle is 6 inches more than three times the width. The perimeter is 76 inches. Find the length and width.

L=3W + 6

P = Perimeter is twice the sum of the length and width

P=2(3W + 6 + W) = 76

8W + 12 = 76

8W =  64

W = 8 and L = 30
