In ΔGHI, h = 94 inches, ∠H=84° and ∠I=84°. Find the length of i, to the nearest 10th of an inch.

I need help figuring out this problem. My teacher tried explaining but i just got more confused.

Draw triangle GHI. label both angles H & I as 84 degrees.

Therefore this is an isosceles triangle.

Angle G must be 16 degrees so that the totality of the triangles three angles is 180 degrees.

Both sides i and h are 94" long.

 

You can use the Law of Sines to compute the length of side HI (which could be labeled g).

 

When obtaining an explanation from a teacher, pay close attention.

At the instant when you become confused, ASK A QUESTION so that confusion does not persist.
