Suppose I pick (without looking) a jelly bean from a box containing six red beans and seven blue beans. I record the color and put the bean back in the box. Then I choose a bean again.

This is sampling with replacement and presumably the picks are independent.

The probability of a red bean is 6/13 on each pick so the probability of 2 red is (6/13)^2 = 36/169
