Given 4x-8y=8 . transform the equation into slope intercept form

This is very confusing , I need help can someone explain how to do this ?

Slope-Intercept form is y = mx + b. So, you just have to solve the given equation for y.

 

4x - 8y = 8     Subtract 4x from both sides.

-8y = -4x + 8     Divide both sides by -8.

y = (1/2) x - 1
