There are an infinite number of ways to show this. Here are a couple of ways.

 

8 = 5 + 3

 

8 x 7 = (5 + 3)*7  = 35 + 21 = 56

 

or 

 

7 = 10 -3

 

8 x 7 = (5+3)*(10-3) = 50 -15 + 30 - 9 = 80 - 24 = 56
