x intercept is -6, so it psses through the point (-6, 0) (x1=-6, y1=0)
y intercept is 1, it passes through the point (0, 1) (x2=0,y2=1) as well.
Now we have two point and we can write equation of the line which psaases throught these points. The equation has the form
(x-x1)/(x2-x1)=(y-y1)/(y2-y1)
(x+6)/6=(y-0)/(1-0)
So the equation is y=x/6+1

Yes
y=x/6+1.
you can write as y=(1/6)x+1, the coefficient before x, slope is 1/6

Thank you again! Can you help me with another problem?
Find an equation for a linear function parallel to the given line passing through the given point.
y=2x-6; (0,4)
y=2x-6; (0,4)
The linear function is f(x): ______

Parallel to y=2x-6 means that the slope is the same, y=2x+b (b unknown yet!) and we know that it passes through the point (0,4): x=0, y=4. Plug thses values into y=2x+b, 4=2*0+b, b=4,
So, y=2x+4.
