Here are some examples that should help you with finding the fraction of a percent in simplest form:
Note: percent means part of 100. 25%= 25/100 , so 25% of $1 is 25 cents. However, 25% of 200 is 25 for every 100.
100 + 100 =200
25 +25= 50 or 25/100 *200= 1/4 * 200/1 =200/4 =50 17% = 17/100
Take 25/100 = Divide numerator and denominator by the common denominator of 25= 25÷25 =1
100÷25 4
Now, if you have a fraction that doesn't have a common denominator, then you will have to leave it alone as a fraction, for example, 9% = 9/100 Nine is divisible by 9 or 3, but 100 is not divisible by these two integers. Thank you, Susan C.
