This one is pretty straight forward. The 2nd equation gives you y + 3 = 0, which means
y = -3.
Substitute into the first equation and y = 2·x + 2 becomes:
-3 = 2·x + 2.
Simplify:
2·x = -5 ⇒ x = -5/2
