Would this be a good speech

Dear parents
Thank you for all y'all have done for me. You have provided me food, shelter, clothes and many more. Thank you for giving me the life every child deserves, and being such wonderful parents. There are not enough words to describe how thankful I am to the both of you. Thank you for all the advice, even when I don't take it. I appreciate you for pushing me towards my goals. You have made me into a hard worker and I cannot thank you enough. Thank you for being parents who always showed they cared and who I know will support me in whatever my future holds.

It's an OK set of sentiments, but are you really giving a speech? 

 

Perhaps the "y'all" is not appropriate in New York.  Say Thank you, not Thank u.

Give some consideration to apologizing for not having taken advice, and realize that advice, coming from experience, should be considered more carefully. (Every day we see or hear of youngsters doing stupid things that can be harmful.)
