Assuming you mean the tire has a diameter of 3 feet:
Noting that the radius is half the diameter:
Circumference of the tire: c = 2πr = 2(3.14)(1.5) = 9.42 ft
In one revolution the tire travels 9.42 feet. How many revolutions does it
take to travel 5280 feet?
(5280 ft)÷(9.42 ft/rev) = 560.5 revolutions to travel a mile
