Write an equation for point slope form, slope intercept form and standard form for a line that passes through (-2,8) with slope 8/5

I’d like to find out this question, I need help studying for a quiz, it’s a question that involves all I’ve learned.. I’m a bit rusty at this though.

Point slope form:  y = mx + b

m = slope = 8/5,  b = y-intercept

y = (8/5)x + b

 

Using (-2,8) as (x, y) plug in and find b

8 = (8/5)(-2) + b

8 = -16/5 + b

b = 8 + 16/5

b = 56/5

 

y = (8/5)x + 56/5    POINT SLOPE FORM

Point slope form:  y - y₁ = m(x-x₁)

m = (8/5),  (x₁, y₁) = (-2,8)

 

y - 8 = (8/5)(x-(-2))

y - 8 = (8/5)(x+2)   POINT SLOPE FORM

Take the slope intercept form and put into standard format

y = (8/5)x + 56/5 

multiply through by 5

5y = 8x + 56

subtract 8x from both sides

-8x + 5y = 56    STANDARD FORM
