Calculus will seem easy if you have the right tutor!

OK, I'm stuck! I did all that and I got y prime = -10x+2y/-2y+14y .....but that is not one of my solutions, I need to simply more? How?

10x - 2y - 2xy' -14yy' = 0 is the result of doing implicit differentiation.
then y'(14y + 2x) = 10x - 2y

divide by two to get y'(7y + x) = 5x - y
then y' = (5x - y) / (7y + x).

NOTE: You MUST HAVE PARENTHESES AROUND EVERY NUMERATOR AND DENOMINATOR to get correct order-of-operations.

I believe that you messed up one sign in your work, and you did not perceive that both numerator & denominator had a common factor of 2, so indeed you did need to SIMPLIFY (check spelling!) further.

Oh okay, thank you! I went back and noticed that I did make a small mistake at the beginning. Thanks for the help!
