Length of a rectangle

Question

The length of a rectangle is 3 more than twice the width. The perimeter is 162 feet. Find the dimensions of the rectangle

Let w = the width

Let 2w + 3 = the length

P = 2l + 2w

162 = 2w + 2(2w + 3)

162 = 2w + 4w + 6

156 = 6w

26 feet = w

2w + 3 = 2(26) + 3 = 52 + 3

length = 55 feet
