Hello Ling,
If you have a square, the formula for the perimeter is what, given the length of one side = s?
You may recall the formula for the perimeter P of a square is Psquare = 4s.
So, given the Perimeter, what is the length of one side?
s = Psquare/4.
Take the perimeter you are given and divide by 4. That is the length of each and every side of the square. Do divide 56x + 64 by 4, divide each term by four. The sum of those terms is your side length.
