What you are being asked to do is to convert a standard equation which you have provided above being: y - 2x = 7(x-3) into a slope intercept form equation.
A slope intercept form equation is as follows:
y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the intercept.
With that understanding, let's take your original equation which you provide:
(1) y -2x = 7(x - 3)
(2) y - 2x = 7x -21 (Due to the distributive law)
Please remember, whatever you do to one side of an equation, you MUST do to the other side. So, let's resolve the equation, shall we?
y - 2x = 7x -21
+2x = 2x - 21 <----Please note: the 2x on the left is cancelled out because of me adding 2x to that one term, and
since I added the 2x to the left, I must now add it to the right.
I am now left with the following:
y = 9x - 21 <----Please note: All I did here was added the term 2x to the previous 7x which existed allowing the
rest of the formula to remain in tact.
Now, you have the slope intercept form of the original equation y - 2x = 7 (x - 3) in slope intercept form because if you will see above the slope intercept form is y = mx + b
