A tennis court is 23.8m by 11m. A tennis club has 3 courts sitting side by side in a fenced area. Each court has 3m of concrete between and 3 m of concrete on the outside of them. Use a diagram and GRASP to solve for:
a) the area of the tennis club
b) the area of concrete inside the club fence

11 x 3 + 3 x 4 = 33 + 12 = 45

23.8 + 2 x 3 = 23.8 + 6 = 29.6

Total Area is 29.6 x 45 = 1332 <--- answer to part A, the total area of the tennis club

Area of the 3 tennis courts is 3 x 23.8 x 11 = 785.4

Area of the concrete perimeters = 1332 - 785.4 = 546.6 <-- answer to part B, the area of the concrete around
