if the cat glove moves back 10 cm while catching the ball how much force did the catcher have to use to stop the ball

More information is needed.  What were the speed and mass of the ball as it approached the glove?  If you knew that you could find the stopping acceleration a from the kinematic relation

 

v_f² - v_i² = 2aΔx,

 

and then find the force from

 

F = ma.
