If it is parallel to the y-axis it is a vertical

line of format x = n where the n is some number.

The y-axis is the line x = 0

If it passes through (0,0) and is parallel

to the y-axis, the equation is x = 0

So, actually, the line IS the y-axis

Dhaval R.

My school teacher told me that if it's y-axis then it will not be parallel to Y-axis.?

Then, per your teacher, there is NO line

parallel to the y-axis that passes through

the origin. The answer is the empty set.

Yeah.Well thanks for your help.

Actually, parallel is a binary comparisom. It

requires two lines to check against each other.

A line is not considered parallel to itself. Since the

only vertical line through the origin is x=0 then

there is NO line parallel to y-axis that passes

theough (0, 0). My apologies.
