Find the slope from m = (change in y)/(change in x)
Then y = mx + b where m is the slope
Plug in one of the given points as (x, y) to find b

Slope intercept form: y = mx + b
m = slope, b = y-intercept
slope: m = (change in y)/(change in x) = (-2-(-6))/(1-(-1)) = 4/2 = 2
y = 2x + b
Using one of the given points as (x, y) solve for b
You can use either, I will use (-6, -1)
-6 = 2(-1) + b
-6 = -2 + b
-4 = b
Your equation is: y = 2x - 4
