y = 6 - 2x
xy + x = 3
x(y+1) = 3
x = 3/(y+1)
y = 6 -2(3/y+1) Multiply both sides of the equation by y+1.
y(y+1) = 6(y+1) - 6
y2 + y = 6y + 6 - 6
y2 - 5y = 0
y(y - 5) = 0
y = 0 or y-5 = 0
y = 5
x = 3/(y+1)
x = 3/1 = 3
x = 3/(y+1) = 3/6
x = 1/2
(3,0) and (1/2,5)

1. y = 6 - 2x
2. xy + x = 3
x(6 - 2x) + x = 3
-2x2 + 6x + x = 3
Can you solve for x and answer?
