55 % of the students are statistics majors and 77 % are business majors. 500 students, how many of them are majoring in both statistics & business?

Let X be the number of stats/business majors.
 
55% + 77% - X = 100%
 
132% - x% = 100%
 
x = 32%
 
23% are stats only, 45% are business only, 32% are both.

 We got the central florida triangle of tutors here,
 
Palm Bay, Melbourne (Arturo) and yours truly.
and 2 of them have the same name.
perhaps an  ISOCELES central florida triangle 
with respect to naming, but mileages will show otherwise.
