The underlying equation that you want to use here is the slope formula: m=(y2​−y1​)/(x2​−x1​)

For this set of values, we have the points (0,4) and (−3,0) .... plugging these values into the slope formula yields:

m=(0−4)/(−3−0)

m=−4/−3

m=4/3

so the slope in this situation is 4/3

You have given two points in the plane. If we draw a line between them, then the slope of the line is a measure of how tilted the line is. 

 

We compute the slope by taking two points on it (given) and taking the difference of the y-coordinates divided by the difference of the x-coordinates. That would be (0-4)/(-3-0)=(-4)/(-3)=4/3.
