If T is the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit then 5/9 (T-32) is the temperature in degrees celsius. Which temperature is the same in both Fahrenheit

and Celsius?

Assuming you are OK through
 
(9/5 - 1)T = -32,
 
Solve for T and get
 
(9/5 - 5/5)T = -32
 
[(9 - 5)/5] T = -32
 
(4/5)T = -32
 
T = (5/4)(-32) = -40

Yes, 16ºC is very close to 61ºF, but they are exactly the same only at -40º.
